When contacted by a client in the automotive industry to produce a series of high-quality, synthetic rubber gaskets, our company was able to employ a wide range of advanced machining processes to meet their unique specifications. Based upon a customer supplied blueprint, we were able to custom-build their products to be precisely two inches in outer diameter, one inch in inner diameter and .055 inches in thickness.
Using our Monsanto Extruder to form the general shape of each product, we were able to create gaskets that contained a fixed cross-sectional profile. Upholding a tight tolerance of (±) .005 inches, using a vacuum to prevent porosity.
Next, we cured the material for forty minutes under 110 PSI, and ground the outside diameters using 230 grit. Then, we cut the extrusion to meet exact thickness specifications. And, finally we tumbled the gaskets in soapstone. We were able to ensure the quality of each gasket. We also inspected all other general dimensions of the product to guarantee they met customer requirements. Using our synergistic capabilities, we were able to custom-build a series of synthetic rubber gaskets that met with client approval. |
