A client approached Western Consolidated Technologies with the need to develop an alternative to the current material which would improve performance and reduce cost. Working in synergy with our material supplier we engineered, developed and tested a PTFE compound to satisfy the customer requirements.
With a drawing supplied by our client, Western Consolidated Technologies began the manufacturing process for this featured precision cnc machined nozzle insulating tip. We formed the general shape using automatic compression molding. We then sintered the stock and machined the precise measurements for the final required configuration.
The nozzle insulating tip measured 1.3125" in outside diameter, .680" in inside diameter, .750" in width, and featured a 62 RMS surface finish. We upheld +/- .005" and +/- 0 30' tolerances throughout manufacturing. After inspecting the component and ensuring all standards were met, we delivered the .0938-pound nozzle insulating tip to our client's location.
